the very first ska band i ever heard, The Agents, who broke up years apon years ago, are getting back together for a few shows and maybe even a new album. i learned about this about a month or two ago, and was upset that all the shows they were playing were when i wasnt home. until now. i just learned they are playing a show the day after thanksgiving at the living room (a super shitty venue in providence that for some reason good bands play at) i think i might shit my pants. the agents were and still are one of my most favorite bands of all time. even though they were a small local ska band, they actually had talent. they blended (and i hate using that word to describe music) a latin salsa jazzy sound with traditional ska and a 2 tone punk back beat. and they made it work with out sounding like a terrible jam band that thinks ska is a funny joke to play around with, nor were they a high school line of future assholes who dont actually like music. they were actually pretty good! what a rarity for a small local band.
so the last time i saw them was high school. im pretty sure the last show they did was when i was a senior in high school. so its been about 4-5 years since i last saw them, and thought i would never see them agian. any ways, this show will be some serisous fun. i can finally drink with my buddies, i can drive with ease, and i can see one of my favorite bands i thought id never see again.
